I dunno, it didn't say anything like this on the Active UV bulb. It doesn't make much sense to me either, since there is a day cycle in the wild, with UV whenever the sun is out. *shrug* i'm not expert on these bulbs. Ig Chick and Mr.D will have to tackle this one.
