Water dragons need a big heated water bassin. Big enoughh to completely submerge. But I still do not understand, why somany people ignore that the same is very appreciated by any Ig. Igs prefer livibg close to river banks and are excellent divers and swimmers. In fact, in southeast asia, green Waterdragons occupy merely the same ecological niche as Igs do in central America (of course with the herbivoe/Carnivore difference). I know of several cases wehre Igs ans WDS got along very well for many years in the same tank. That in principle works often much better then the trial to keep two Igs together.
So it need as careful considerations as any mixed species setup, but it can work and does not need to be detrimental for any of the cagemates.
Just my 2 cts
Happy herping
