Wow, there was really no reason to get yourself into such a defensive dither about this. No one was challenging your knowledge about UVB and I didn't even notice Mr. D. on this thread! My point was that BL black fluorescents do produce *some* UVB. It was stated just as a point of fact. Also as a point of interest, more UVB then the vita-lights that people used 15 -20 years ago. Of course there are better products now but at the time Vita-lites kept animals, and to some extent this hobby, alive and growing. (I don't really recall solar drops being available 15 years ago.) At no time did I intend to advocate the current use of black lights. Sorry if that was somehow misunderstood.
