Id reccomend picking him up, Ive seen one too many delivery guys tossing packages around like they were beach balls. The airlines are relatively good for shipping(here in canada, dont know about US.. although mistakes can happen.

Young tegus are usually large enough to be started on frozen pinkys. The one I fed LOVED canteloupe!!! They seem to like sweet fruits as a treat. Crickets, feeder fish, mealworms, the occasional hard boiled egg... tegus pretty much eat anything you give them, not to say that its all good for them.. You should really give the Tegu forum a try, they will be able to give you specifics, suck as what and how often to feed and can point you in the direction of a few good care sheets. Good luck with the little guy! Ive heard that they CAN make really good pets if you put the time into it.
