Hi guys! A new adoptee came to us today, kind of an emergency situation- he was kept with another male and they were fighting til the blood, and the owners couldn't deal anymore. Fully tame guy, what a sweetie, and salmon colored, too- weird. Anyway, we have a vet appointment scheduled for friday, but here's the thing... before he came here, last night, he was bitten by the other male iguana. On the mouth and inside. It's not a horrendous wound, but enough that I'd think he's having some discomfort. Until he goes to the vet, what can I do to keep it clean, and/or ease any pain he's feeling? I'll be pulverizing his food to mush and keeping him nice and warm, is there anything else I can do? I'd also like some advice on helping Psyche adjust to the change.. she actually seems to like him, but is there any way to make sure I can avoid unneccessary stress? Shall I feed them separately? Keep them in different rooms? Thanks in advance for any advice or criticism of my foolhardiness :-)
