: Yeah, arugula is another name for rucola/rocket. I have a book with different names in it.
: The other one is corn salad, not corn. I actually dont know what it is, we call it veldsla in holand and the transtation in th dictionary is corn salad. Its a green leafed veggie. and it sort of grows in small bunches. I use it for myself in a salad. He enjoys it if I do offer it to him but I want to know if I can include it in his permanent diet.
: Thanks
Vicky, I'm in PA (and a older adult who cooks and has been making salad forever :) I don't know what corn salad is (unless they don't carry it over here).
We have romaine (in bunches), green and red leaf lettuces (in bunches), raddicio (?), frisee (which is a spiky looking green), Bibb, Iceberg.
I am trying to think of the others, but my mind is blank right now. Rule of thumb is -- anything with lettuce in the name is usually a no-no. Romaine is okay every so often, but not as a daily part of a diet. Most of the other lettuces don't have enough nutrition in it to feed as a staple.
