Ganghis is doing just fine, Question though!

Ganghis, my new iguana is doing just fine. I finally got his cage escape proof and he is starting to get used to me. I have been taking him with me around the house for the last three days and he has learned to sit and not spaz out. He likes to be stroked on his head. I can tell because he closes his eyes. He is still not quite sure of me though.
He is still spazing out though when i enter the cage to get him. Tonight he was running into the walls when i tried to grab him for his bath.
How can i stop him from doing this and potentially hurting himself?
He has a check-up with the vet on monday. What should i ask and how can i tell that he is a good iguana doctor or not?
