The brand I have is Fluker's. Maybe the faint hairline cracks are really just cracks in the heat emitter's enamel outer coating and not in the emitter itself. I can't seem to catch a fingernail on the cracks so I guess I won't worry about it. As hot as this thing gets, I'd hate to have it suddenly shatter from a manufacturing defect.
