: Well I took Kamikaze to the vet today to check out his excessive sleeping. Turns out he might have an obstuction of his bowls, which is letting him pass, but not completely so it is getting impacted. We will know more about what the cause is when he does finally do his "business". He had an enima and that didn't help at all. The vet thinks it might be the carpet fuz, so just a warning to all of you guys. He is 2 ft long and carpet fibers are enough to potentially call for surgery. Hopefully the x-ray was showing just a lot of bowels, but the vet doesn't know so I just have to sit and wait. He suggested making sure the carpet is clean before letting him freeroam again. I thought I'd just share my story. =(

Barbara: My iguana is a free roamer, too. When he goes down the hall to my daughter's room and the door is shut, he will try to paw underneath and he will rip out carpet fuzz. He doesn't do it if her door is open. I know he's eaten a piece of two already because his "poop" had fuzz in it. Once in a while in the living room, I would see him chew at the carpet. I asked on one of my boards and they said something was probably spilled there or crumbs and he was trying to get at them. I do keep the carpet vacuumed (every day) so no little things are on it. I'll be more vigilant. I hope your ig is okay.
