need help.. im building a tank..

And please only get back to me if you've done this before. I am thankful for anyone that can help me but this is the type of question that needs a definite right answer.

Im making a iguana tank out of wood, and im at the point when i paint or stain it and im not sure what to use. i would like to hear what people on the board have used.

whatever i use it will have plenty of time to dry because i dont own the iguana yet, i just need somthing that will hold up to the UV and the high humdity.

So if you can help, let me know what you used, tell me brand name and store you got it.... thank you...
