Thanks to a very nice person on this forum

Go to http://www.gekkota.com then to Listerve, then archives.

High FE glass can be special ordered. It allows UV penetration

I was looking through some old papers, and I came across these numbers,
published by William H. Gehrmann.
According to his research papers, window glass would let 78% UVA and only 5%
UVB radiation through. Plexi-glas (UV-T) would let 89% UVA and 64% UVB
through. Galvanished mesh, depending on thickness (from 0.13" to 0.5") would
let anywhere from 67-82% UVA and 71-83% UVB.

UV-T Plexi (like Lexan) has to be replaced quite often to maintain it's effectiveness.
6mos is recommended by labs but you could probably push it to 12. A better
solution would be to only have UV-T in the path of the sun with low FE glass
or normal plexi making up the rest. Check out the manufacturer's claims
individually (require them to provide a % throughput for the thickness you
plan to use at a baseline of the UVB you care about) as not all UV-T is
created equal.
