here's our story....well Chuck and I have always been animal lovers, we heard about an exotics place near by and thought we would just go check it out lol little did we know what would come next, anyway we met the store owner Shawn. We were so impressed with him and the way the animals were taken care of, it was like meeting Steve Irwin the (Crockodile Hunter) Shawn really knows his stuff and is angered when any of these amazing creatures are not cared for properly, so after getting a lesson in which lizards are good for a beginner(cause we only ever had mamals and birds) we went home with some leopard geckos along with a habitat that he set up for us and instructions to absolutely visit Kingsnake.com for caresheets and more info. Well after awhile of visiting the store and stopping in for crickets and stuff we became more and more how should I say ...ADDICTED lol everytime we went was like a zoology lesson it's quite some time later now and Shawn has become a good friend and I go and help out at the store sometimes we now have 12 snakes a bearded dragon a mali uromastyx and two chameleons, and of course many long informative instructions from Shawn on how to take care of each one! So I'm at the store one day when a teenage boy comes in and asked Shawn if he wanted his nine year old Iguana because he no longer had time for him, Shawn told the boy he would take him as he is quite often taking in Iguana's that are no longer wanted...you know how that is! anyway next day in comes Wolfy, Shawn checked him out from head to tail then let Wolfie climb up on top of a shelf to just relax so he wouldn't be too stressed. After Wolfy had been there for about a week he was getting used to us all, we decided it was time for a bath, after a nice soak we spent about two hours gently removing what looked to be about 5 or 6 sheds from his spikes, all groomed and happy we let him free roam the store, Shawn after seeing how we doted over him said "I know you guys would take good care of him, if you want him he's yours" so we thought about it for a few days and visited this forum to ask questions after checking out Mr. D's website there was no question!...we had to give Wolfy the home he deserves after nine years! So I thank you all for helping Wolfy! cause you and your stories were instrumental in our decision. Shawn has devoted alot of his spare time and has been coming to our house to help us build a ROOM (ha ha ha thanks to Mr.D) WHAT other petstore owners do you know that would do that????
meanwhile Wolfy is being well cared for at Shawn's till the room is done.
