The nail melting tool I have used for about 4 years
works GREAT!!! It is so easy to use, and the hot tip is very very small,
only about 1mmx2mm, which makes it quite safe. There is no noise, no grating, etc that
a dremel will have.
I have even
used it on my cyclura iguana since she was a small baby. Took me under
2 minutes to get 10 very nice dull nails.
When they get older, you need to "sculpt" the tip. The result is similar to
what I used to get when I sanded down the nails with sand paper - but that took hours
whereas using the tool takes only a few minutes.
Please see my website for more details.

GOod Luck!!!
