I agree with everyone here, but there's a different side too. I work at a wonderful Petco (if there is such a thing) None of us enjoy the fact that we sell iggy's to begin with. I myself own an iguana who had mbd that a customer abandonded at our store. 99% of the people who come in looking to buy iguana's want to put them into 10 gallon tanks and they don't understand why they have to spend so much money on UVB lighting and on and on and on. We talk maybe half of these people out of buying and flat out refuse to sell to some of the others. No body is willing to do research on their own and no-one wants to spend any money. It get's depressing when nobody listens to what we say. We have care sheets that we hand out from a nearby reptile rescue that clearly state how difficult reptiles (iguana's in particular) are to care for and the extent of the caging a 5 foot iggy will need, and proper diet etc. So my conclusion is that people in general just suck. Not just petstores.
