: Hi everyone,
: I got a new {atleast to me}2 year old female iguana. She is really sweet, and is still a bit nervous, but gives me kisses and loves her bath. The only problem {other than all the scratches on my arms..lol} is that I know she wants to be able to walk around on her own, but I don't know how to do it so it is safe for her, and everything else in my house. I did let her crawl around on my couch the other day, she went to the end and did this kind of flying iguana thingy off of the sofa onto my speaker almost breaking a glass clock. But of course when my husband and I jumped she got scared, ran around the living room, then under the couch. I did get her back but she was scared and a bit shook up. I know I need to give her time to get used to my house, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

: Thank you all very much. I love this forum.

My ig has its own room on the second floor. As he got older, I expanded his "area". You will find your ig will find a favorite place and will usually go there (for example, when I bring mine down to the first floor, it climbs on top of the computer monitor because warm air comes out of it).

Mine will climb on the chair or sofa, but usually doesn't get on the tables or anything, except one. I have a little table in the corner with crystal and he does go up there, but is very careful and hasn't broken anything. I don't want him up there, but they get an idea and keep doing it.

You just have to make sure he can't get to the top of things. Right now "his" room is a spare bedroom I use on occasion. I had a puzzle set up on a card table. I completely didn't think of what he would do, but he got on the table and onto the dresser and knocked over all of my colognes and pictures and lamp. He can't do that if the table isn't up.
