Hi Samcin. I signed your petition but I want to point out that this is not going to be that effective. We should when we see these events lodge cruelty complaints. Also, someone has to grant a permit where these events are taking place, be it town, city or county. They can be held responsible for the activities as far as for enforcement and as in violation of laws. Oddly, if you review some of the cruelty laws certain states make exceptions for this and other activities. I suggest we all (I am in my state) get involved in our states legislative practices and attempt to change cruelty and animal welfare codes so wholesale and retail pet stores and carnivals can't violate basic humane treatment to animals. There are enough herp owning citizens to make a difference. And it really doesn't take alot of people. It’s a matter of well placed phone calls, letters and e mails and a commitment to get changes made. I suggest that herp welfare, education and law all intersect and it is time that we take part in writing the law rather than have it dictated to us and write the law so events as those you are describing have no place in our society.Good luck with your efforts.
