The fight at work has now become whether this iguana is named "Cosita" (Spanish for "little thing") or "Jubjub" (ala Simpsons). Anyway, s/he has just been chilling on my shoulder while I do computer work all day (well, reading the iguana sites is work, right?).

This iguana could be a male, s/he's got a relatively high crest and well defined femoral pores, but I should probably take him down to the other igs in the yard and compare him to some of the known males/females (but it's too cold right now to take him/her outside). S/he just seems so sweet, and almost everything I've read says males in breeding season are NOT sweet! (of course he's probably just being "sweet" because it's warm up there on my shoulder)

Anyway, I have plenty of UV lighting (11 turtles/torts at home!) and tons of healthy salads. Can this ig use the same calcium powder my chelonians get? (it's the no phosphorus kind of calcium) I haven't thrown out the prepared food that came with him because I figured if he's eaten it his whole life he might need it mixed with the salad to get him to eat it, right? Or will he just be so thrilled to get fresh food he'll forget all about the fake stuff? I don't know but I want to go home and set this guy up and I still have an hour left at work! GRR!

Thanks for your prompt reply, xta, and I can't wait to show you all this cute little girlyguy!
Sierra
