Several possibilites:
she may have gotten too cool to waddle her fanny back out, or she may have just wanted to cool down for a while if she was getting too warm.
She could have been scared of something, and also, igs like to crawl into tight spaces when they're available, most herps feel more secure when they're not smack dab out in the open.
There are other reasons she may have done it, too.
Now, on iggy intelligence:
Igs aren't said to be as smart as cats or dogs, but they're definitely smart in the animal sense. They've got selective hearing (not hearing when you say "don't DO that" but hearing when you say "GREENS!")
They're also smart when it comes to revenge (poop-painting, being mean for seemingly no reason). The fact that they can sit on a rock heater til it burns them to a crisp or crawl into the basement where it's too cold isn't really a matter of smarts though, I don't think. I think their nerves are less sensitive, or are sensitive to different things and the danger doesn't register as quickly because of this.
just some thoughts. Feel free to correct me, guys, if I'm wrong.
