Yeah, that's real bad. People shouldn't be allowed to keep them unless they know what they're doing. They should AT LEAST have a license that you can only get if you pass the appropriate test(s). Not just a license you pop into the post-office for and get over the counter (like it used to be with dogs in the UK. Now you don't need a license for dogs in the UK).

And yup, I noticed you said habitat.

You know, I was reading through the laws on "enclosure" sizes for diff reptiles, and it's amazing how tiny you are LEGALLY required (in Florida) to have for something like a 10ft gator.

I'd never DREAM of having it in something as small as the state requires. I'd want at least a 100'x100' pit.

Solid concrete walls sunken like 15-20 foot into the ground. Half of it like a nice swamp/pool, the other half an island with big trees, plenty of bushes and ferns, etc., and a umm.. "kennel" (for lack of a better word) for hidin' when it wants/needs to, Under-ground heating, the works :)

But, like I said... when the lottery win comes in.... Until then, I'll settle for Leos, Beardies, Anoles & Iguanas... Well, maybe some snakes in the future too, hehe ;)
