I would keep him. Do what you can to spend time with him, but at least you are confident he is getting the proper care (even if someone adopts him, how will you ever know that they are spending any time with him?) He's your baby too, stick with him! I may be facing a similar situation this year (may start a family) and I know all the relatives are concerned about my reptiles... but they are my first babies and I will juggle it all somehow. Sleestack would freak out in a new environment-- and I mean he is the most neurotic lizard I have ever had. It would be cruel of me to force change on him unless it was a greatly improved environment that he had to adapt to. I'm planning for the long haul. The only thing that would change my mind was if he got impossible to handle (more than breeding season)...then I would have to rethink things.
