I have two males and one female ig. One male: Joey, is pretty content to stay in his enclosure all day - but does not want to be touched at this time - he is very defensive.

On the other hand, Jerry, the other mail ig, who I have been trying to tame for some time ( 2+ years)has been scatching the heck out of his cage trying to get out. So, I have been opening the door so he can wander. This has meant more interaction between him and me, which has progressed the taming program quite a bit. I can actually pick him up without being totally schedded and bit. We have established a pretty consistant behavior routine.

One other note. I also have a male Paraguayan Red Tegu. He is also very active on wanting to get out and wander. This has helped his behavior training too and he can ( when I let him ) free roam without problems ( except trying to get him to poop in one place-like the bathroom ).

So that is about it. Not everyone has the same behavior - but I have heard that the breeding season is definitely a trying time for both igs and people.
