Anyone have a hyper male?

I can't wait for breeding season to be over. My male has been crawling up the sides of his enclosure ever since it started. He is full of energy. Anyone else's male ig get this hyped up during breeding season? Have any suggestions on how to help them calm down? I tried the green sock in the cage trick, but he never took to it.
