: So, I'm getting a little depressed reading all these prolific posts, although I do agree with many of their main points (the ones supporting education and devotion of necessary funds to ig care(, but I just had a question for the board in general -- is owning an iguana ANY fun?? I realize you all are trying to educate those who refuse to listen anyway, but it's beginning to sound a bit like owning an ig is a job rather than a hobby! I'll admit - I'm a fairly new owner and I haven't experienced the $3000 vet bill yet -- mine was only $33! But I just wanted to know why you all have iguanas if they're so much work. There has to be some element of enjoyment in it, or I don't think you would all be here posting on this board. I appreciate all the help and advice I've received here but I think we could use some more "happy" posts! I didn't buy my ig -- daughter brought it home from the NJ boardwalk and I kept it. Mine free roams, so I think he's so comical to watch. Yesterday, he knocked down the plexiglas partition at the top of the stairs

and I found him at the top of the Xmas tree.
When I clean and make beds in the morning, he follows me and sits on the floor or a pile of wash. When I have him in the computer room, he lays on the back (because it's warm). If I'm watching TV, he will continually jump from his basking spot on my leg and back. No, they can't run and fetch like dogs, but either can I (LOL).
