There has been some discussion here on ceramic heating panels, not the Zoomed ceramic heating elements, but the actual rectangular heating panels.
I have gone to the panel web page and it is informative, but there are a lot of questions still unanswered, or, maybe just a little confusing. I am hoping that someone here on the forum can be of help - hopefully someone who has used the panels and has set them up.
The things I need to know are: (1) what size/wattage should be used for a 7ft high, 4ft wide, 2.5ft deep enclosure; (2) what wiring and any additional devices need to be used with the panel ( this would include any mounting materials or structures; (3)what is the approximate cost of the panel ( I live in Northern California, so out of state or So Cal stores won't help - unless I can buy it on line ); (4) Has there been any significant savings in electricity by using the panels ?
Right now I am using 250watt heat lamps along with two CHEs ( one 250w and one 150w - with everything on timers and thermostats). With 5 enclosures ( 3 igs, 1-monitor, 1-tegu ) this is running me an EXTRA $150 miminum per month just in electricity bills ( thanks to the way things are in CA and PG and E ). I really need to get the energy bills under control and I am hoping that panels will help.
I do know my electrical wiring and engineering ( part of my job ) so wiring up the panels and such - I can do myself.
I would appreciate any info or a least a direction to go with this. Thanks.
