building for non-builders....

Okay...
So I see now that it seems to be fairly important for my iggy to be in as large a cage as possible, and also that most of the ones available on the market are pretty much unsuitable. So, my question is, how do I go about building my own? I currently have my ig in a 20-gallon long and she's been okay with it for about a month now (SVL is about 3 1/2"), but lately she's been starting to climb up her little shade tree, which I assume means she's feeling too close to the ground (or she's cold, I'm not sure which). The other issue is that I live in Ohio right now and in about six months I'm moving to Tennessee (no problems moving the ig, I'm just not sure how I'll move the CAGE). I'm guessing I'll need some wood or something (der!) but I'm not sure what to use for the walls. I've seen some of you guys using Plexi-glas but I'm not sure where to get (or how to cut) that stuff. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
