A matter of fact is that noone is disinfecting wild wood in the nature. I think much is hype around doing this. Im sure possible insects in my wild caught wood will soon die as they will get a heat chock after just being preparing for the cold winter.

My igs are very pottytrained nw doing it in a container through a mesh. And I don't think its a big deal if a tiny part iguana stool would end up on the wood now and then as no one normally cleans their vent with soap and water either on a daily basis (a bigger concern?). It soon dries up and the dangerous bacteria likepossible salmonella soon dies. I haven't felt any smell whatsoever rom the wood as I have n o problems with stools on it.
