Well we'll see how this cage holds up... I am seeing some problems with the edge stripping on high traffic areas.

As far as making it out of natural wood...been there, done that...hated it! It was impossible to clean and disinfect properly. Even though I potty train my iguanas, they have accidents around breeding season usually. And I hate that stink that would get into the wood. (even though I coated it over and over with a polyurethane type coating).
