they have at the local/ state levels.Many counties/ cities now ban all exotics (including any "wild animal" such as herps). Many states have a blanket ban on keeping any native reptile, no matter what. Wild caught or captive bred from another state- it does not matter.. Example, New Jersey state law prohibits one from "impeding the natural movement " of an animal much less even touching it, catching it or even harrassing a snake to take a coiled position for a photo. Give me a break!! There has to be some resisitance to the Humane Societies movement or else they will end up with all the apples.They already had a big impact on the shipping of animals before the terrible events of 9-11.
