: also, i noticed there's something wrong with his "vent". there's something kinda poking out from the crack. the vet noticed it but didn't do anything other than wiping it clean. i've seen pics of the hemipenis and i don't think that's what it is. i looked online and found info saying that it could be due to dehydration, constipation, and parisites... and to try soaking him in sugar water. that didn't work. should i attempt to gently push it back in with a surgical glove and ky jelly? suggestions please. i have no way of telling how long it's been that way since he just returned home yesterday after 2 months in the wilderness.

I don't know anything about the vent question. I remember reading seminal plugs can dry and get stuck in the vent. If a warm bath didn't help, I'm not sure what to do. You could try Melissa's site (Anapsid.org) and see if that problem is addressed. I'm pretty sure I saw it over there because I refer to that site when I have a problem.
