I read your post regarding an area of spikes being white. My first reaction is this.....could it be unshed spikes? Our male has a hard time with some of his. In fact sometimes when they finally loosen up enough to come off there are 2-3 sets over the actual spike! I spritz him really good every day and when spikes look white I gently give a little tug on each white spike to see if it will come off easily. Don't twist or pull hard...a gentle tug should make it pop right off if it is ready. Try misting the area heavily for a few days and then see if it is unshed spikes.

Otherwise...I don't have a clue as to what may be causing this spike problem. Good luck!!
