It's not the price tag on an animal that decides how it is cared for. IT IS THE INDIVIDUAL THAT OWNS IT! If a person buys an iguana for $9.99 and doesn't take care of it he/she is a piece of garbage. If a person buys a Fijiian Iguana for $10,000.00 and he/she doesn't take care of it they are the same piece of garbage as the $9.99 purchacer. I too have seen many iguanas that look like the picture. It is still not that there are so many iguanas but there are people that aren't educated about what is needed to take care of their new pet. I have also seen 2.4 adult cubans in a cage that were so hungry two of them tried to chew thier way through the wire to get out. At $1,500.00 a pop the guy still didn't care. So price doesn't have much to do with it. The hets and albinos will only be sold to breeders or others that have a love for the animal. There may be a few that go to undesirables but not everyone can be screened. How many cyclura have to be in the U.S. for you not to buy one? You are either a purist or a purist with a few exceptions. Which is it? You are supporting the breeding of more iguanas, Cyclura or not. And I think that David and Bob are doing wonderful thing!!!! But I am not a purist. I can't control what others do with their animals. I can only know that I take care of mine probably better than I would take care of myself. And that makes me happy.
