Thanks for your reply. You had some questions about Louie's enclosure and the substrate and UV, etc... being the financially challenged college student that I am, the lights in the picture were temporary from the last burnout and I have a new UV light now (about 6 months w/out a UV bulb) They're expensive and she may have not had good UV for a little while but I doubt it would have been a serious problem or caused MBD in such a short time. Agreed, pine or aspen is definitely not good as a primary substrate for iguanas but hardly any time is spent on the bottom level and it has never been a problem thus far. She is very healthy and gets plenty of attention and has plenty of room to grow in an enclosure in a house (or apartment) that is certainly not "iguana proof". I've made many additions and changes to her cage since 6 months ago and will have pics up soon also on photopoint. I have a slightly different design that what may be the 'ideal' setup but it works for me now and I am still working to improve her surroundings. I know this is a long message, but I just wanted to explain myself. Take care.
