I received my first serious bite from an iguana this summer...it didn't require sutures but dang!! it hurt like heck and took quite a long time to heal. Watch for buried teeth. I just had a tooth work itself out of the scar in the last week. I've seen the acrylic tanks that you are speaking of also. They are very expensive when purchased new. The size that you are describing sounds like 150 gallons or larger....probably $1800 or more new, at least last time I looked.
Best of luck with the new rescue. I've taken in a new one too...more on that later.
