Around our "facility" there is no such thing as "paying" for an ig. Money is spent here for care/food/housing etc. If someone feels it necessary to rid themselves of the responsibility that they took on when they initially obtained the iguana then they must realize the responsibility that they are asking US to assume and, therefore, must at a MINIMUM provide the full enclosure and equipment that they used for the ig.
Currently we are down to 9 iguanas. None of them were "bought" from anyone. We simply refuse to "buy" iguanas. Strictly speaking for ourselves, *buying* an iguana whether from an abusive/uneducated owner or shop is just that - a purchase. Not to be confused with a "rescue" in which the "owner" is at LEAST required to provide the lizard and old housing FREE OF CHARGE if not additional monies for immediate supplies.
Personally, I'm sorry that, for whatever reason, you "regret" coming to this forum. I'm not sure what you were hoping to accomplish within a 24 hour period. If it was actual placement of the ig then I have to say that it was, unfortunately, an unrealistic expectance.
As far as transport of the NJ/Philly ig, we have been known to do that ourselves - provided that SOMEONE covers at least part of the expenses. We at least require all parties involved to take SOME responsibility for the animal that they no longer have the ability/time/interest to care for.
