I have rescued/adopted 6 older, abused igs in the past 6 years. Some were free; others were not. Did I worry that paying for the abused ig was rewarding the bad owner? Briefly. More important to me was getting the ig out of the bad situation. Only one came with housing & that was unusuable. $150 is a fraction of the $500/house I have spent to give each ig proper housing. There are also people who believe that if something is free, it's not worth anything.
Last month I drove an ig from NJ to Philly for an adoption. I didn't know either family, just knew that an ig needed a ride to a better home. The adopting family saw the ad for the igs and asked if I would help spread the word, which I did yesterday. If I broke any posting rules, I apologize. I sincerely regret having sought help from the iguana forum.
