DIET QUESTIONS and more...................msg!

Well I was using butternut squash, but I decided to get acorn squash yesterday. It has seeds in it??? And is as hard as a rock??? Is that right???? And I bought HOSS' some watermelon and he loved it. How nutritious is it? I know someone said it's good for hydration, but is that it??? Actually he ate only the watermelon today and that was it!!! Funny actually as soon as I put his salad in the aquarium he looked down and saw that red and just started munching. Usually he just waits around and gets there when he gets there. Also I put rose petals in too. These are good for like snacks right???? And lastly how good is an iguanas sense of smell??? Like can he smell me coming in the room before I get there??? Thanks guys!
