day night cycle

Hi ive had my iggy for hmm almost a week now (was rescued and i kept it) its been doing real well, ive posted about him a lot since i got him. Im not sure on the day night cycle. He seemed to be sleepy today, and i think its cuz he didnt get much sleep the night before. Shoudl i allow him 12 hours day and 12 hours night? Would that be bes or maybe 14 10? Thanks.
