I understand that animals suffer....but, as a scientist, what about our species eating up all the land were these animals used to live upon...?...heck when i lived in nj, they preceded to plow and demolish endangered timber rattler habitat, even after they knew it was there...Many people(yours truly inc) tried to stop them, but to no avail..... i eat chicken, beef ect...and my critters eat such things along with mice rats and rabbit....I fish, im an artist and a taxidermist, so, i really am not fond of animal rights,...I dont think humans are any better, just they mussed up the place, and im living with it.....it is my right to own reptiles, as it is to own a cat ect......and, while it might be nice to cease importation on some animals(big monitors, igs, tortosies,....)(like they did with spectacled caiman)others do fine,(BTW, what about captive bred,? they get banned too, and werent hurting anything? ...i thing making some of them more pricy is the way to go...if igs cost 250 each,...only those who really wanted one would get one....plus, we just need to make shipping better....BTW, i was not making some ludicris statement about the us becomming communist, only the likeness of thier spooty laws restricting the publics freedom(telling me what i can an cannot do).....yes reptile keeping is a responsabilaty, and yes..we should police ourselves....(go check out the petition and such on the reptile law forum) btw..(you think communism started with iguanas?!)...ROTFLMAO....great line, that should be on a tee-shirt....
