My male iguana was recently in
season. His cage has reflective sides
and he ran himself from one end to the
other, bruising his nose severely, until
I placed towels on each end which
stopped his agressiveness.
In fact he hurt it so badly that a blood
blister developed and recently broke.
I have been putting triple anti-biotic
ointment on it - he does not seem to
be in pain as he is now eating once
more with gusto and enjoys his baths.
My question is should I take him to
a vet or can I just continue to treat him
myself? And if I should take him to a vet,
does someone have the name of an ig-friendly
vet in the Portland, OR area? Again, Iktomi is
a 3.5 year old male with a female companion,
Kineta, who is 2 years old.
Please advise and my thanks in advance.
Heidi
