In Reply to: HOW LONG WILL GREENS KEEP??? posted by ECKO on September 06, 2001 at 17:32:47:
It Depends on the greens and how you keep them... I've been able to use mine for 7 days. I wash, cut them up and store them in tupperware, putting paper towels on top and turning the containers upside down. Collards and turnip greens seem to last the longest. Escarole and endive last me awhile too. Watercress and dandelion usually go within 5 days. Mustard greens really vary depending what condition I get them in (sometimes 4-5 days, sometimes 7) With all greens, I pick out the nasty ones as I go along so as not to spoil the rest. If you don't put your greens in tupperware, they wilt and go fast!
Squash can last me 2 weeks easily if I only cut off what I need and keep it refrigerated. (same with fruit) Zuchinni seems to turn faster than all the other squash.
