Iguanas will naturally be scared of you. Its their instinct to trust nothing that moves.

The way to tame the iguana is to handle it everyday for short periods. Pet the iguana on the head and back softly (avoid the tail, they HATE it when you touch their tail), and you might try talking in a calm quiet voice. It will take a long time (months, maybe years), for your iguana to be fully trust worthy of you. Good luck!
