UPDATE ON HOSS' TAIL WOUND

I was in contact with Jane who is the mother of Charlie and she said he had a similiar wound and it healed up fine and his tail didn't break off! By looking at the picture I attached does everyone else want to give Hoss a clean bill of health for this wound or do you have another opinion?? Any advice would help. After his baths I have been swabbing his tail with diluted Bactine and applying Triple ointment antibiotic.....
