Iguana not eating.....

I just bought my iguana, which is a baby just last week. Maybe I am missing it, but I haven't seen him eat yet. Is this typical for a baby iguana??? Um, I put so much food in is dish that I can't tell if he's eating it. What else could I do to entice him or is he just really too scared to eat????
