Okay if you didn't know I just bought "Hoss" the other day. He is just a baby. I was wondering when I take off his lid and reach my hand in the aquarium to either feed or hold he/she goes wild, and running into everything in sight. Is this normal and will it hurt him. I used a cascade of rocks from a gulf to make up his basking area because rocks are big and flat, and usually hold the heat in pretty good, but the rest of the tank is driftwood, and fake leaves to give a forest appearance!!!!! I heard that you shouldn't try to handle him for 3-5 days after you get him/her, and I also heard that you should handle him/her as soon as possible which I am doing now. So which is it??? and Hopefully I am not scaring him to death reaching into the tank. I reach in slow and try to stay level with his eyes so he/she can see me at all times, but maybe he/she just isn't comfortable with me yet!!!!!
