My thoughts exactly.....although, I have never used ANY supplements with my iguanas (female 6 years old, male 3 years old) I do understand the need on occasion for others. For myself specifically, gravid and newborn blue tongued skinks.
Biological question re: lots of calcium and no D3:
Would it not make sense that this would lead to mineralization? Also, I heard of a study on D3 sources in reptiles in general which drew the conclusion that many alreay advocate. That being that powdered forms are almost impossible to be used by the animal. The interesting part was that liquid sources can easily be fatal in too large of quantities because any unused amounts stay resident in the body. Sorry, I cannot recall where this came from, just wondering if you have ever heard this yourself.
