How much of the tail are you talking about? Can you post a photo? Are you confident in your vet? Are you sure your iguana is not shedding? If it is not shed and seems to be spreading upward, I would be concerned because that would be an indication of gangrene and more of the tail would have to be amputated the further up it goes.
