I think alfalfa pellets are fine. I believe they are high in plant protein so depending on his blood results, moderate accordingly. MK advises feeding alfalfa as part of the diet.

I'm glad you are having so much fun with Floyd, he sounds great! (do you have him on a leash? I would hate for your little sweetie to get spooked and run away!)
