UVB and UVA lights on timers....

I was wondering. Most of you use timers right? Well I am just concerned for a friend of mine who turns all the lights off at night. The iguana gets 12 hours of light ( full spectrum and UV bulb) then gets zero light at night. Is that good? I don't know much about Iguanas, but is it normal for them to go 12 hours of zero light? Sorry I sound stupid but I'm just curious. The room actually stays arond 80 degrees at night. Thank all for the info.
