What kind of cage is he in right now? That may have something to do with his behavior. Also, how big is he. One idea to help for the first little while on the scratches is to take a pair of rubber gloves and cut the fingers out of them. That way your wrists are protected, especially since he's still pretty young. Then you can hold onto him better without having to get scratched all to pieces. Also, have his nails been trimmed? That may be helpful as well. But as far as taming goes, the thing that has worked for me is to hold my Igs a minimum of 15-20 minutes twice a day. They get baths and fed at about the same time every day. Iguanas like routine so keep it the same as much as possible. But let us know about the cage you have him in. It may be that it's too small and he's stressing because he's uncomfortable? Just a thought. Good luck and keep at it. Take care, J
