A strange thing happened.....

Today as I went to put in "her highness" food she tried to grab a bite before I had let go and got my index finger. Didn't break the skin but I went within 2 minutes of the bite and washed my hands with antibacterial soap. A few minutes later the area started itching like crazy and was red. I put some antibiotic cream & a bandaid on it (if only to keep ME from scratching it!)

It did stop itching finally but I have no idea why I reacted like this. Anyone have a similar response? Better yet, anyone know why a person would respond like this?
